'A Broken Man'
Size: 80x80cm (unframed dimensions) | Graphite on Acid Free paper.
A large graphite study of the Gaddi Torso - a classical sculpture which sits in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.
Thought to have been made in the 2nd Century BC, the sculpture is believed to represent a centaur straining against his bonds, a theme that was represented several times in Hellenistic art, as it was an emblem of mans struggle to control his baser nature.
